Our principal physiotherapist Lyndsey Scholes has over a decade of experience treating musculoskeletal and sporting injuries. After graduating in 1998 from the University of Salford in England she has worked in a variety of environments in the UK New Zealand and Australia. Lyndsey has provided physiotherapy services at the London Marathon and to Finchley Cricket Club (Premier League team) in England. She spent 4 years working in Mayfair in London’s most prestigious Personal Training studio and had the privilege of treating many TV personalities pop stars and celebrity chefs. Since returning to Australia at the end of 2009 Lyndsey has worked at a popular Physiotherapy and Pilates studio on the Northside of Brisbane continuing on with musculoskeletal physiotherapy and teaching equipment Pilates; prior to opening Back2Balance Physiotherapy, Wilston in October 2011. Lyndsey has a hands on approach to physiotherapy and utilises skills in muscle energy techniques dry needling and kinesiotaping whilst providing the client with the knowledge to assist them to self manage their condition. Lyndsey has a special interest in treating headaches neck pain and pelvic instability. Lyndsey has recently spent time in Sydney completing the level 1 “Watson Headache Approach”. Lyndsey’s interest in physiotherapy came at a young age. As a competitive gymnast for 9 years she had numerous injuries and understands the importance of getting back to full fitness as quickly as possible and has also learnt the hard way in returning before an injury had fully recovered. When not working Lyndsey’s passions are travel and her 2 young children. She has travelled extensively and her goal is to have visited 50 countries by the age of 50. Currently at 27. Lyndsey likes to keep fit by running, Pilates and a new found love (obsession) of Crossfit.
After Graduating from the University of Queensland Tim has pursued his interests in both acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries. With an evidence-based multimodal approach Tim uses the most up-to-date treatment methods to ensure you can get back to work or training: faster stronger efficiently and pain-free. He will not only help to diagnose and treat the injury but also help to learn and understand the issue the factors driving the problem and ultimately self-manage it. With a combination of dry-needling rock-taping muscle energy and Mulligan Techniques Tim believes that there is always a solution to your problem provided you find the right approach. Whether your goals are being able to get through an eight-hour day of sitting heading to the slopes for your next ski trip or getting back on the bike Tim will help you achieve your goals and motivate you to set the bar higher to achieve your full potential. His idea of the perfect weekend is a bike kilometers of abandoned road a good coffee and of course some good company. He and his wife disagree on many things luckily this is not one of them.
Louise O’Sullivan graduated from the University of Queensland in 2007 and has extensive experience in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy. Louise is passionate about functional movement, exercise rehabilitation and maximising her client’s potential through strength and conditioning. Louise provides physiotherapy services to City 4051 CrossFit, the Qld State Tour Men's Beach Volleyball squad and is a lead presenter for Rocktape seminars throughout Qld. Empowering her client’s with knowledge of their condition and teaching them how to self manage is her priority. Louise’s approach is goal driven, hands on and utilises Western Acupuncture / Dry Needling, Clinical Pilates, Yoga, Strength and Conditioning, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Massage with Rockblades and Muscle Energy techniques. With experience treating elite athletes, weekend warriors, years of study in various Yoga traditions and Clinical Pilates, she can work with any BODY. She believes that we all have the potential to live a life that is healthy and fulfilling by exploring the world through our senses and tapping into the present moment via movement. When not working, Louise is working out! Either at CrossFit, running around the Brisbane River or doing Yoga on her balcony.
Rachel graduated as a Physiotherapist from Curtin University in 2008 and completed clinical Pilates training with DMA in the same year. She has a special interest in lower limb injuries, injury prevention and exercise rehabilitation. She is passionate about people having a strong healthy body that will allow them to live life to the fullest.Outside of work she enjoys keeping active and exploring the outdoors, participating in a variety of sports including running, volleyball, hiking and surfing to list but a few!! Having a strong background in normal movement, biomechanics and exercise therapy she enjoys taking a whole body approach to rehabilitation. Rachel enjoys using a variety of treatment techniques including manual therapy, dry needling, a variety of soft tissue techniques and of course always a component of exercise in order to facilitate recovery.

Shauna is originally from Zimbabwe in Africa where she finished her schooling before coming to Australia to commence her studies in human movements. Before finding her love and passion for Pilates she was a swim school manager for two years and also obtained various coaching certificates for hockey, swimming and athletics. Shauna has completed her Pilates training through Polestar Pilates and has been a Pilates Instructor for eight years. She has a huge interest for rehabilitation. She really enjoys seeing the benefits of Pilates with all her clients of different ages injury levels and expertise. She also has a love for teaching kids Pilates of all ages and just for those who want to keep fit. Shauna’s hobbies are playing tennis baking and for relaxation a good book to read! You can always hear her laughing and having a good time with her clients.
Nichole joined the team at Back2Balance in May 2015. Coming from a background in retail and fitness Nichole is now studying Law and Justice at QUT whilst working as part of our reception team. As a long-term Physio client and having over 2 years of experience working in administration for a Physiotherapy Practice Nichole is able to answer your questions with knowledge that comes from personal experience and endeavours to make clients feel welcome when coming into the clinic. Nichole is also an accredited dance teacher with BATD and in her spare time travels Australia conducting workshops and strongly endorses the effectiveness of Pilates for both injury prevention and rehabilitation.
Mitch joined the Back2Balance team in February this year. She has worked in administration and sales most of her career. Since having her son Brayden 15 months ago and travelling around Queensland for 6 months in a caravan she has now resettled in Brisbane and is working 3 nights a week on the front reception desk. Mitch is a long term physio patient and is able to answer any query you may have. In her spare time, she loves to keep fit at the gym and getting out and about with her family.
