Stick mobility is a system of movements and exercises aimed at making movement better by improving flexibility, stability, and strength.
The exercises use the orange sticks as a tool to improve range of motion, muscle activation, coordination, and body awareness to build a strong foundation for better movement.
The stick provides leverage which enables you to access a greater range of motion than you could without it and you can also push and pull on the stick to focus the exercise on strengthening. When you add strength to the outer ranges of motion you really reinforce that new range of motion and increase the potential of the stretch. The stick also provides kinaesthetic and visual feedback to the physio and the client. This increases body awareness and sharpens coordination for the user and provides a simple tool to measure progress for the physio.
